BOOK PRIZE

The Singapore Association for Applied Linguistics (SAAL) Book Prize 2024

SAAL is proud to present the inaugural Singapore Association for Applied Linguistics (SAAL) Book Prize 2024, which will award two prizes of S$500, each to i) a Master’s student and ii) a PhD student for outstanding research papers in applied linguistics. (Please see detailed criteria below.)

As the sole organization representing applied linguists in Singapore, SAAL aims to promote and celebrate the study of linguistics in Singapore and encourage the next generation of potential applied linguists – who may be working on English, Tamil, Malay or Chinese – to pursue their interest in this field and engage in valuable research. Winners will be given the opportunity to share their work at a seminar organized by SAAL, which will be open to the public.

The SAAL Book Prize is supported by the Speak Good English Movement; the Promote Mandarin Council for the Speak Mandarin Campaign; the Malay Language Council, Singapore; and the Tamil Language Council.
